The DJI Avata is an innovative drone that was released in 2022, marking DJI’s entry into the cinewhoop category. Cinewhoop drones tend to be small and light, and are designed for cinematic filmmaking, particularly in tight spaces and indoors. The Avata is no exception to this. The propeller ducts created by the propeller guard of a cinewhoop provide greater stability in flight, helping them to capture smooth video footage. Combined with the First Person View (FPV) goggles, DJI as opened up accessibility to this technology for everyone.
Another feature that sets the DJI Avata apart from other camera drones is its support for motion control. This feature allows for a more immersive flight experience, as you can control the drone using goggles and a DJI Motion Controller. With its intuitive and easy-to-use controls, the DJI Avata is perfect for both aerial photography and videography.
The Avata’s lightweight and portable design make it flexible to fly in various scenarios, and its built-in propeller guard enhances flight safety. Another noteworthy feature is the drone’s expanded video recording field of view (FOV) of 155°, which is significantly wider than the 84° FOV of most camera drones. This expanded FOV allows for even more impactful and visually stunning aerial shots.
